About Austin's Asian Chamber

The Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce (GAACC) supports Asian-owned and allied businesses across Central Texas through programs focused on Advocacy, Connection, and Education.

COUNTDOWN TO OVATION

APA DEMOGRAPHIC SNAPSHOT

Among each of the five counties in the Greater Austin area, Asians are the fastest or second-fastest-growing ethnic group.

The Asian population in Greater Austin doubled in the last decade, from approximately 82,000 in 2010 to approximately 160,000 in 2021.

Texas’ Asian population is projected to grow by 60.9% by 2050.

Austin’s Asian community is highly diverse, with significant subgroup shares from Indians, Chinese, Vietnamese, Koreans, and Filipinos.

Growth among Asian ethnic groups is not homogenous. Asian Indians added over 22,000 people to Central Texas from 2015 to 2021, more than five times the growth seen among other Asian ethnicities
